Plaa and her staff are helpful and welcoming. Sure, it’s a bit of hike up the steps to get to your bungalow but the privacy, cost with only 500B per night and the breezes to cool you down up on the hill can’t be beat. Her food is the best on the beach although Silver Cliff Resort next doors has some great curries and soups!

Mosquito nets are included over each bed and a western bathroom with shower and bath tub is in each bungalow. There’s no hot water and the electricity is only on from 5pm – 12am each day, but that’s all you’ll need since you’ll be on your terrace in the hammock, or on the beach during daylight hours anyway.

Don’t miss spending time in the Thansadet waterfalls themselves – we went nearly every day and had the multi-levels of fresh water pools almost completely to ourselves. It was a true paradise, nothing but relaxation, a great place to get away from it all and one of the best vacations I have ever taken.

I have in the past witnessed them firing guns at the feet of customers and regularly assaulting people. The waterfall tour boat drivers no longer bring there day trip customers to this resort as a result of this.

Nobody else from any of the other resorts wants to confront them which is understandable considering there madness but untill something is done these probems and vilolence will remain. These people are pure scum and should be avoided at all costs.

At least once a week, the bungalow owners at J.S. Hut, regularly rip people off in every manner, including injury. A small scratch on the motorcycle cost 8000 baht for us and we settled for 5000 … otherwise, they threatened us with injury and would not return our passport.

We watched them attack a tourist 3 days ago and he ended up in the hospital with stitches for moving out. This is not the first time! Another english couple who asked to move out after spending 2 weeks already were spat on and yelled at. Don’t stay at this place! They are dangerous!

The service & friendliness at Haad Yao Divers is just excellent! The professionalism they provide is exceptional. The dive boat, the diving instructors and everything else made me feel safe and all this in such a laid back and friendly atmosphere. This makes Haadyao divers the best dive center on Koh Phangan island … at least it did for me ;-)

Please pass on my apologies to Woody for not getting back for another bucket of beer! (I left earlier than expected) but I will definately make it up to him when I come back and do my Advanced Open Water!!

Overall the place is very nice and offers ocean views from most if not all of its huts, the service was a bit slow, but maybe it was because of the low season- it wasn’t very busy, but we can not say enough about the receptionist- she seemed to be allways there, with a friendly smile and offer to help.

We would most definitely return to this resort!

That off season phrase became very common over the few nights we spent here – the information left in our bungalow was all for peak season so did not apply (so why was it left in there?), the restaurant closed at 7pm without any notice as it was off season, the staff made us feel that we were in the way (including very loud conversations right outside our bungalow very early!). Also, I understand previous comments about the beds – the hardest bed I have ever slept in!

This place may be good during peak season, but I would not recommend it in off season.

The resort in itself is not that particular, the rooms are basic and the pool is clean but it is not more than that. The restaurant served good food and the breakfast was really good. The beach is ok but there are way better beaches on Koh Phangan.

However if you want to party in Had Rin then this is the place for you.

The music there didn’t hit my personal taste but it was sort of okay. party decoration looked nice during the night and the place was simply packed with around 1.500 other tourists.

everyone seemed to be happy probably cause of the buckets we had :)

we left early that night but i can recommend this place. sad thing is that our camera got stolen which was locked under the motrobike seat … but i guess shit sometimes happens :(
