At the southern tip of Thailand’s beautiful tropical island, Kohphangan, is the intimate and secluded Lighthouse Bungalows and Restaurant.
A cluster of uniquely designed bungalows with a beautifully appointed restaurant, built within an amazing boulder setting which overlooks turquoise waters and the island’s magical sunsets. Only a 10 minute walk to Hadrin Village and Beach – Koh Phangan’s host of the famous monthly Full Moon Party – you can relax within this tranquil setting and have access to the unique local Thai culture, lush tropical jungles and some of the most beautiful, secluded beaches in Southern Thailand.
Surrounded by nature, the Lighthouse’s location offers spectacular views over the gulf of Thailand where you can relax in your bungalow hammock or sit back in the comfort of the Lighthouse Restaurant and enjoy delicious traditional Thai or European cuisine.
Established 17 years ago, Lighthouse bungalows offered peace and tranquility away from the bustle of Haadrin yet still within easy walking distance through the beautiful adjacent beach know locally as Leela. In the beginning guests were required to make a tricky climb over the hill to access the resort. A wooden bridge now connects us to the beach whilst still retaining the away from it all feel. The restaurant was rebuilt in 2002 to a high standard to enhance your enjoyment of this unique location. The restaurant is surrounded on the three sides by the ocean giving an expansive view of the changing landscape. Deep water access from the rocks offers great fishing and swimming.
The rooms available start from old style Island Hut to moderm Concrete Apartment with massive balcony and private bathroom. All rooms come wth fan and spectacular seaviews overlooking Koh Samui. The infamous beach of Haad Leela is a short walk away, while Haad Rin is only a bit more further.
Haad Leela is also known as Haad Seekantang and is about 15 minutes walk from Haad Rin town center. It is a long white sandy beach that is fairly thin in places and has a rugged appeal. Due to its secluded location, the beach was popular with nudists in the early days. There is still bit of the old Phangan vibe in some of the bungalow resorts and you can get far away from the maddening crowd in Had Rin, whilst still being able to pop in for a midnight visit to 7-Eleven.
The comfort and beauty of the Lighthouse Restaurant offers a range of delicious authentic Thai and European Cuisine in an atmosphere of natural beauty and contemporary luxury. Overlooking the beautiful waters of the Gulf of Thailand, the Lighthouse Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner from 8.00am to 12.00pm. You can savor a range of inexpensive dishes including traditional Thai soups, curries and noodles; fresh and delicious seafoods; mouthwatering fruits, salads, sandwiches and a fantastic variety of European meat, fish or vegetarian dishes.
If you arrive in Tong sala, the best way to Lighthouse Bungalows is to take a taxi to Haad Rin Beach, which is about 20 minutes away along long winding beautiful roads, approximatley 50 Baht per person. Then follow the directions from Haadrin to Lighthouse.
To walk from Haadrin to Lighthouse bungalows takes about 15 minutes. From Chicken Corner, which is in the centre of Haad Rin, walk along towards Paradise bungalows. After Paradise you should come to some steps or a road which takes you towards Leela Beach and Coco Hut Village. Follow this way to Leela Beach and Coco Hut and walk along the beach past all these bungalows until you come to a small wooden bridge. Walk along the bridge for about two minutes then you will be at Lighthouse Bungalows.
Lighthouse Bungalows offers different types of bungalows like Poppy Bungalows, Daisy Bungalows, Sunflower Bungalows and Rose House for up to 5 persons.
